General Conference (Delayed)

Hey everyone! This past week was excellent in the work of the Lord! I hope you all saw the hand of the Lord in each on of your lives. If you had any experiences you want to share, shoot me an email. Alright, let's get into the week!

We started of the week strong with exchanges! I got to spend the day and learn with Elder Roque! He's a quiet guy but full of wisdom. I enjoy whenever I get the chance to work with him. He teaches from the heart and it is awesome to witness. We had some fun and did alooooot of biking!! Just out of curiosity I checked how much biking we did. I'll link the screenshot below.

Wednesday and Thursday we really worked hard on getting back to people we've been finding. We met some amazing people and two of them came to church!! Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures with them, but next week!! Sister Clarimel and Nanay Marina came to the rebroadcasting of General Conference! Which I must say was amazing. I had a hard time staying awake during a couple of the talks though. It's just been so darn hot here. Yesterday it was 41°C plus like 80% humidity. For the Americans here 107°..... just peachy eh? But we locked in and had a great day.

Friday we travelled to a different city to have exchanges with some other Elders in the zone. My comp was Elder Beni!! Elder Beni is from the Island of Bohol! Her in the Philippines, Bohol is famous for its chocolate hills and cute little Monkeys. We had a very good day though. The Lord was guiding our every lesson. We taught 12 new friends that day, and they all agreed to have us come back! I also slept in a kubo that night....... not the smartest. If you don't know what a kubo is, try searching it up hahaha.

  Spiritual Thought

This quote from President Camille N. Johnson really spoke to me:

"We are commanded to share His light. So keep your lamp full of the oil of conversion to Jesus Christ and be prepared to keep your lamp trimmed and burning bright. Then let that light shine. When we share our light, we bring the relief of Jesus Christ to others, our conversion to Him is deepened, and we can be whole even while we wait for healing."

Hearing this yesterday gave me extra strength. It helped me take a look internally. Is my light burning brightly? Is my lamp trimmed and ready for when the bridegroom cometh? I'm grateful for these words of reminder and refocusing. I have really felt the Lord helping me focus on this work this past week. I have been praying and asking for added strength coming into the last little stretch of my time out here. I have felt and do testify that God knows my desires. He has blessed me according to my own efforts in following His will for me. I know that he love each and every one of you as well. Pray and He will answer.

Peace

Elder Baker
