Magandang umaga po sa inyong lahat! Sana maganda ang nakaraan linggo! There's a little slice of some simple Tagalog for ya'll! This past week went super fast. And General Conference is Today!! I'm just going to give a list of the highlights na naranasan namin (that we experienced) last week.
Highlights
- Monday afternoon we traveled to Cauayan City for exchanges with the AP's
- On Tuesday, we had some great learning moments and I learned a ton from my comp Elder Hurst
- Wednesday we got to participate in a fun little conference/council with the other zl's and stl's in the mission. We just try an find ways to help the missionaries become more effective and efficient in missionary work!
- Thursday we went to one of our super far areas to find which was fun. It was like a 30 minutes tricy ride hahaha. I have learned thats it really is so fun to just stop random people and talk to them about the gospel. I am pleasantly surprised every day by those people who stop everything their doing and let us teach them!
- Friday we got to have a cool half day exchange with some Elders from our zone. I got to be comps with Elder Abellana from Cebu. He's a dawg. I asked him what the highest amount of finding he'd done in a week, he said 28, so we set a goal of 28 new friends to find that afternoon. Unfortunately we were not able to achieve that goal. we did pop out 18 though which was a huge success.
- Saturday was just trying to get to all of those people to invite them to church!!
- Sunday was great. I got to pass the sacrament for the first time in a while so I'm super grateful for that. Not a ton of our friends came to church but we had a lot of our Recently baptized friends come! A huge success.
Spiritual Thought
I have done a lot of thinking and pondering about the gift of the commandments and the guiding words of the prophets and apostles. I am so grateful for the opportunity that Heavenly Father had given to us to keep His commandments. One the President Oaks said in General Conference was that commandments are given with the expectation of obedience to them. God will never give us a commandment that is outside of our capacity to follow. I've tried to apply this to my mission as well. All of the rules I used to think were silly or without purpose, I chose to follow. Not begrudgingly, but with the knowledge that " obedience brings blessings, but exact obedience brings miracles " - Elder D. Todd Christofferson. I have truly experienced the miracles of obedience to Gods commandments and the rules of my mission. I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father trusts us enough to let us use our agency to follow Him.
I love ya'll! Sorry for not writing for so long!! We got super busy! If you guys have any updates let me know! I'd love to hear about how each of you are doing!
