Bahala Na

Hello everyonnnne! This week was a bit slower but so good. Lots of opportunities to turn to God for help. I also wanted to say a big thank you to those of you who have sent me emails in response to my weekly updates! Even if you think they're just a little gesture, I promise they all make my day brighter. But hey I don't have favorites. I love you all! Anyways, lets get into the week!!

Tuesday I had exchanges with our Zone Leaders! I was able to work with Elder Ybañes. He's such a good missionary. We found a ton of people and taught me a lot about being bold in my finding and teaching. Of course we as missionaries need to be respectful of their time, but one thing I've seen and come to really feel strongly about is something Elder Holland said about every situation being a time for missionaries. If we have ears to hear and eyes to see!! It's so true!! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the answer. It brings the peace Jesus spoke of to his desicples when He said
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Wednesday and Thursday were a bit slow but it was still the Lords work and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to be a part of it. After a hard day on Thursday, we got home and one of the other Elders and I felt like we should say a prayer. We knelt and started pray. By the time we said amen, the whole apartment was filled by the Spirit. The feeling continued on until we were just about to got to bed. Just then, one of the Elder came in and said in Tagalog "Elders, do you guys feel that?? The spirit is filling the whole house! I feel full!". Such a tender mercy after a tough day. We were given a much needed gift of comfort.

Friday was a lot of walking I must say. We made this awesome plan of walking down the highway and knocking every house we could. We knocked a lot. Hahaha, unfortunately not a ton of people answered  but we met a really cool nanay who spoke English! Over all a great day.

Saturday we focused more on inviting but still managed to teach 4 lessons!! It's kind of cool to see the transition I'm making here in my mission. Teaching has gone from something I was really stressed over, to something I look forward to and I feel the Spirit so much when we're just testifying about how much we love Jesus.

Sunday was just all over all.A really good day! We got to go to church and partake of the sacrament. After that , we went home and did our studies. Then we ended up walking to of our farther areas and were able to teach a couple of lessons!!

Spiritual Thought

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

"When we don’t know how or exactly for what to pray, we should begin, and continue, until the Holy Spirit guides us into the prayer we should be offering. This approach may be the one we have to invoke when praying for our enemies and those who despitefully use us."

I truly love that Elder Holland encourages all of us, even when we don't know what we're going to say, to begin. When we pray with sincerity, the Spirit can speak to us. I love the thought of the spirit guiding us "into the prayer we should be offering". I challenge all of you this week to pray more often and more earnestly. As you do so, I promise you will feel the peace and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Well that's the end! Another week down which is unreal. I'm a little over 8 months now. How time has flown. I love you all! If anyone needs any prayers or fasting, just send me an email. I'm here for ya'll.

Peace

Elder Baker
