Ang Iiiinit

Yoooo what's up everyone?? I hope your week went well! My week was a bit slow I'm not going to lie. But that doesn't mean it wasn't good! Let's get into it.

Tuesday was unfortunately alot of punters. So we weren't able to teach a whole lot. Unfortunate to say the least. Sometimes those days really take a toll on you. I am a firm believer in the hard times though. They've helped me appreciate more fully the experiences I've been able to have with the spirit and the amazing people of the Philippines.

Wednesday was so good!! But also so long hahaha. We walked probably 10-15 kilometers haha. It was really good though. We were able to find 6 new friends and teach a lot of lesson. I'm so grateful for the good hearts of the Filipino people. They are so nice even if they have no clue who we are. We really haven't encountered alot of haters out here. Except for some devoted Catholics. Those guys are relentless.

Thursday we had district council and we actually, we're told by our mission president to not go outside until after 4 PM! That was crazy. It was blazing out here though. I think you're gone up to 36 or 37!! Wild.

Friday we had a good day, we had Zone Conference! It was all about The Book of Mormon. I loved it so much. I was asked what role it plays in my life. I said that for me, it is my sustenance. It is the sustaining power that comes from reading it everyday. The truth and power that comes from a consistent study is irreplaceable. Loved Zone Con. It was still blazing hot though when we got back. We came back and taught 2 or 3 lessons I think.

Saturday was inviting people to come tk church!! Lots of walking and talking with people. We really focused on our IBD Tricia though. She's really progressing and is so cool. She reads The Book of Mormon everyday. So sick.

Sunday was a really nice break! Here in the Philippines, we don't get to watch General Conference until a week after the original broadcast. So our branch watched all of the sessions on Sunday! I loved how the theme seemed to be focused a lot on our covenants and the temple!! I have been able to see how important the temple really is in our lives. Not having the opportunity to go To the temple during my mission is of a bummer. The power and strength is much needed in our world today.

     Spiritual Thought

"We become vulnerable when we slow down, especially when we stop"

 Elder Dale G. Renlund

I testify that satan is working harder than ever as we come closer to the Saviors return. We cannot stop moving towards the Savior. General conference is another reminder to continue and prioritize our appointments with the Lord in the Temple.

The Lord knows and loves you all!!

Peace

Elder Baker
