Happy New Year!!
What's up everyone!?! I hope ya'lls 2023 was awesome! As we head into a new year, I challenge each of us to try and focus our lives more on the savior, Jesus Christ. As we do this we will have more hope, peace, and strength during our daily trials.
This week was pretty good over all! Monday was fullllll of fun stuff. We woke up and went to the stake center to go ball out for a couple hours. We lost track of time and ended up being late for our breakfast appointment, yeah we had a breakfast appointment. I don't know how often that usually happens but I mean it is what it is hahaha. We just went straight to the members house in our pday clothes, which probably was allowed but hey it was Christmas. But becuase we were late to the breakfast, we were also late to the lunch appointment. Let's just say she wasn't too happy. All is well now though hahaha. But yeah. Great Christmas fr.
Tuesday was good. We had 5 or 6 lessons so a really full day. Other than That just lots of walking hahaha. But great to be doing the Lord's work.
Wednesday lots of the saaaaaame. Lots of walking and another 3 lessons. Oh I forgot to mention, the language is going pretty good now!! By no means am I close to fluent, but I like I can say what I need to say and I can understand almost everything they say back! The gift of tongues is real.
Thursday was hard but still good. We walked to our farthest area. At the end of the day when we saw what time it was, we realized that we wouldn't make it to our dinner appointment if we didn't get a ride. Little did I know my companion had said a Prayer that we would get a ride. Just as we were coming to the highway, a car pulled over and offered us a ride. It was truly an answer to his prayer.
Friday and Saturday was a bunch of finding and inviting to church which I really like. Oh pause we had a Baptism on Saturday!! Shes a gem!! Her name is Jennifer and I don't think she's missed a day of church for like 3 months. When she bore her testimony it was so precious. Shes super shy so I was actually surprised did it! Shes awesome tho. But for the rest of both days it was inviting and walking hahaha.I love asking people to commit to something. you really see who your investigators are when you ask them to commit. lots of the times you see that at the end of the day, they really aren’t interested. Which is super sad but it's all part of God's plan. People have there agency.
Sunday was awesome. Sadly, we didnt have any of our investigators come to church which was sad but there wasn't a ton we could do about it. All we can do is continue to invite. As we were walking to our dinner appointment on Sunday, I was praying and had an overwhelming feeling of peace and comfort come over me, confirming to me that our heavenly father is there and he does listen to us. Ah! Isn't the spirit just the best you guys?!
Scripture of the week
3 Nephi 3:25
25 And they did fortify themselves against their enemies; and they did dwell in one land, and in one body, and they did fear the words which had been spoken by Lachoneus, insomuch that they did repent of all their sins; and they did put up their prayers unto the Lord their God, that he would deliver them in the time that their enemies should come down against them to battle.
I love this so much. Trust in God that he will not let you go. You might have to go through the " refiners fire " but at some point in life, so does everyone. Choose to "continue in righteousness" . We can't go wrong when we stick to the basics. Read your scriptures and say your prayers. Trust in the Plan. Love you guys so much fr!
Peace
