One Week Till Christmas?!?

What's up everyoooone! I hope the Christmas season is going well for all of you! It definitely is one of the best times of the year. I challenge everyone to find someone to serve. Even if it's something as simple as shoveling their driveway. We all know how good it's feels when we look outside of ourselves. This Christmas season is the perfect time to be an embassador of Christ and serve as He would!  Aight let me get into how this week went!

Alright alright today we're gonna start of with something a little more exciting. It happened last pday evening. We were at a members house for dinner, which was so good! After dinner we were just sitting and talking for a bit and I was just playing around with their dog
( which was an "American Bully" ). After about 20 minutes I got this impression that was like, " justin this dog could mess you uuuuup! You probably shouldn't be playing with it " and also note that playing with dogs and cats is against mission rules so yeah I was already in the wrong, but just wait there's more. About 5 seconds later I was still playing with it and all of a sudden it snapped up at me!! I pulled back as fast as I could but I was too slow. It bit me!! It got me right on the side of my nose. Thankfully it really wasn't that bad and it wasn't too deep but I mean c'mon Elder Baker. So silly. But a miracle that I only got a scratch compared to what could've happened. Gods hand was there, I have no doubt.

Tuesday we had to go to the city hospital for me to get the Rabies vaccine hahaha. In reality it wasn't funny, it hurt really bad, but after they gave me the shots they told me if the dog dies in the meat 14 days I gotta come back in and get 3 more doses. So basically I guess what this all comes down to is... Listen to the spirit!!!! He's not just telling you things for fun! Heavenly Father will warn us from hurt and sorrow but he can't save us from
" dumb decisions ".

Wednesday we got our transfer list! My comp got transferred farther south. It was kind of a sad day to be honest. I really didn't think I would be affected by transfers but I realized how much I'd came to love my companion. Even though our companionship definitely wasn't perfect, it taught us both so many super hard but very important lessons. Especially me I feel like. He made me a better person and missionary no doubt. But after work that day we had our "Final Feast" we got a bunch of really cheap burgers and like 8 siopou! Amd of course our ZLs cooked adobo. It was great. Lots of good talking of course.

Thursday was a hard day but it was good. We dropped my companion off at the bus station and the. Waited a few hours for my new comp! He's such a stud! He doesn't speak much English which I mean is okay with me. It'll be good for me to not have English to fall back on!

Friday we got our support! I stretched my rations this time so I made it through with a few eggs left. So after our DCM we went and got some groceries. Also I bought a weight scale here for like 12$ which I ended up being too big for, so I went back to return it. But they said that they don't accept returns. What the what. They ended up letting me exchange it for a super nice digital scale which I somehow came away with and I didn't have to pay anything else. Steal of a deal.

Saturday was the highlight of the week!! We had a baptism! Nanay Corpuz! She's a saint for real. She comes to church every Sunday even though she has very little money. She has so much faith!! But yeah so that was the highlight of the week for sure.

Sunday was awesome as always. We went to church and afterwards ha lunch at a members house. We mostly tried to find people that night which went okay. We only found one new person but still! The worth of souls is great in the eyes of God!

Scripture of the Week

Alma 56:47-48

47 Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.

48 And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it.

These verses are so gooood! I love that they ( the stripling warriors) give all of the credit to their mothers. As someone who took for granted the words from and example of my mom, I love this scripture. It helps me more fully understand how much my mom has really influenced who I am today. I    testify that a mothers impact on her children is crucial. Even though their words of encouragement and guidance may seem to fall upon deaf ears. I promise as one of those kids who maybe my mom thought wasn't ever listening, I was. And her words are ever present through my hard and good moments here on my mission.

As always, miss you guys! Also I love reading the emails you send back so if you want to, send me one!
