Merry Christmas!!!

Hey everyone! First of all Merry Christmas!! What the what how is it Christmas?! At least it is for me. It's still Christmas eve for ya'll haha. It definitely isn't the same feeling of a  Christmas surrounded by family and friends. Buuuuut when I think about what I'm really doing out here, trying to give people the best gift ever!! It's aight with me. Anyways let's get into the week!

(This one's a bit long so if you just wanna see the pictures, just wait for the other Emails)

Tuesday was a bit of a slower day since I have a new companion. I showed him around our area and we stopped by a few members houses. We mixed in some finding during the day which was nice. We ended up teaching this tatay named jaunito tawasan. He's is someone we call "an ancient".  I think he's like 88 or something like that. He was awesome though. One crazy thing was though, when we were teaching him about Joseph Smith, he told us what happened in the Sacred Grove!? We were like what the heckkk. after the lesson he told us missionaries had already taught him a few times so I guess that makes a but more sense.

Wednesday was good. We had a few good lessons planned but ended up only being able to teach one. Thankfully it was a friend of on of our Investigators! She was super receptive and actually interacted with us during the lesson. She asked us questions which is always so good. It means someone is actually listening hahaha. But yeah so so good.

Thursday was some more finding which was good. Actually we didn't plan on finding but most of out appointment fell through which unfortunately is a usual here. We had DCM and dinner appointment with the Galvez. I'm gunna be honest there are some members houses, that foreigners are discouraged to eat at, let's just say I stick mostly too the rice with alot of em hahaha. President Cobing doesn't want us getting sick though so it's understandable. But I think they're starting to catch on haha. They cook alot more vegetables when we come over which is so gooood.

   Guess what we did Friday......
Findinggggg! Hahaha. Yep another one of those days. But this one was different. We walked for probably around 2 or 3 hours to the farthest part of our area and weren't having a lot of success, but towards the end of the night around 7 o'clock we came to this compound of little houses and met on of workers. His name was Jarom. At this point I'm feeling really tired and kind of just want to go back to the apartment. But the minute we started talking with Jeremy. I felt like all that walking had been so we could find this one kid. Seriously. Nothing he said was
out of the ordinary but I definitely feel like the spirit led us to him. So crazy.

As usual, our saturday consisted of mostly inviting people to church. We tried to go to every single one of our investigators houses. A few people weren't home. But we managed to get to most of our area!We were working really hard the whole day and pretty high hopes coming in to Sunday's Sacramento meeting.

Oh Sunday'sss. The best and sometimes saddest day of the week. This Sunday was a little different for me. now that I'm leading the area. I feel more of a responsibility to these people. Sadly, out of the twenty to thirty people we invited on Saturday, not one of them came. I watched the door the whole sacrament meeting, hoping one of them would walk through. I had been praying all of Saturday and Sunday morning for just 1 person to come to church. but unfortunately no one came. I was pretty bummed out on the walk home. I was talking with our ZL, Elder abay, and was expressing some disappointment. He listened and afterwards said one thing to me "no effort is wasted.". I really do believe that this is true. even though we may put our heart and soul into something that is of the most importance. Sometimes it doesn't work out in the way that we want it to. We worked and prayed all Saturday for someone to come to church. Obviously the Lord has something else in mind. The phrase that comes to my mind is "seek ye first the Kingdom of heaven." As we seek the kingdom of heaven, our desired outcomes will not take precedence over God's plan for us and his other children.

This week's Scripture is the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Luke. Go read it!

Love Ya'll and Merry Christmas!

Peace
