Little Trip To Manila?!

Kamusta lahat mga tao! This week has been crazy so let's just get right into it!

Alright so Tuesday morning was pretty wild. I woke up and just was kind of sitting in my chair half half awake when I open my email. I saw and email that said " URGENT ", the email that
" these elders need to come to the mission home today after lunch, they will fly to Manila until Friday to get their fingerprints done for their Visas ". Or something to that extent. And below that message it named 7 elders who needed to go, it was my whole MTC district! I packed my little suit case and left for the mission home a couple hours later! I got on a bus for about an hour and a half and met up with the elders! We all stayed at a little hotel down the road that night since our flight wasn't till Wednesday.

Wednesday morning we all got breakfast at a little restaurant in the hotel and then the APs drove us to the airport! We got through security pretty easy and just before we were about to board, a missionary who had only been in the field for like 3 days came through security, apparently he got the email late hahaha, but he made it so its all good. His name is Elder Balgos, he's a stud, he's a straight Filipino from Gueens New York and speaks no tagalog hahaha. But yeah so we hopped on the flight and landed in Manila an hour later! We got dropped of at the hotel and just chilled there for the day. It was super crazy to suddenly be with the boys again but it was awesome.

Thursday we went to the Manila MTC and got our fingerprinting done. After that we were able to go to the temple!! Definitely was the highlight of the trip. I've been missing the temple so much.
Once we were done at the temple we headed back to the hotel. It wax pretty melo for the rest of the day.

Friday morning we got up early and went to the airport! Our vacation was over, we got back to Cauayan around noon. We had lunch as a district one last time before we all hopped on our own busses and left. I got back to my apartment around 3 and we got back to work! Just taught a few lessons and passed out when we got back.

Saturday was huge! Baptism dayyyy!! Our friend Jessica was baptized!!! She's been through so much to make this commitment and I'm so happy for her. After she was baptized she bore her testimony and it was beautiful. Her faith is such a testimony to me. That was really our main focus on Saturday so we didn't do too much else.

Sunday was obviously so good. We got to go to church and partake of the sacrament which is always amazing. Later we had a few lessons and came back to the apartment at curfew around 6. I laid down to take a nap around 7:30 or 8 and I didn't wake up till this morning so it was an awesome nap hahahaha. I definitely needed it lol.

But yeah that was my week!!! So wild holyyy. A great one though for sure.

This week is a quote from Neal A.  Maxwell!

“If our youth are too underwhelmed by God’s work, they are more likely to be overwhelmed by the world.”

Elder Neal A. Maxwell

I know that as we youth lose ourselves in the work of the Lord, the problems and noise of the world will become unnoticeable and unimportant. This goes for the parents too of course. I know that as we center our lives on Jesus Christ we will be happier every day.

Pics in another email! Love Ya'll!

Peace

Elder Baker
