Its So Hot Here!!

Whats up ya'll?! This past week has been pretty crazy! I finally made it to my first area!! But before I got here me and my MTC District flew to Cauayan City from Manila to meet our mission president and his wife. They are some of the kindest people I've ever met. We stayed in Cauayan Friday night, and then on Saturday we got to meet our trainers! Mine is such a stud! He speaks just enough English to to help me with most of my tagalog questions which is so nice! But anyways, after we met our trainers we had lunch with the president and his wife, then we left! We all got on different busses and went to our own areas. It was pretty sad saying bye to all of them since they are the people I've been living with for the past month but it is so awesome to know that the people of the Cauayan mission will have amazing missionaries serving them!

So yeah, Now I'm here! I'm definitely getting a bit of culture shock during these first few days. We've taught probably 4 or 5 lessons and most houses we went to only had 3 walls and didn't have roofs. It's so humbling to see the circumstances of the people here. And yet they are so happy with what they have. I'm so glad I'm out here so I can serve these people.

Since today is pday we got to go play basketball and go grocery shopping! We went to the church and played on the cement court there. None the missionaries we live with play basketball but it was still super fun. I think next week we are inviting some non-members to come play! My trainer calls it " Building Community Relationships ". After we played we went to get some groceries. I realized when I was looking around at all of the meat and rice, that I don't know what to get since I really don't know how to cook, thankfully my trainer and the Zone Leaders in the other apartment know how or else I'd be eating Ramen for a long time hahaha.

Overall it's been a hard but good first few days. Spending time in the scriptures has definitely the most important part of each day for me. Today I read a really verse in Mosiah 1:7

" And now, my sons, I would that ye should remember to search them diligently, that ye may profit thereby; and I would that ye should keep the commandments of God, that ye may prosper in the land according to the promises which the Lord made unto our fathers. "

I'm so grateful that we have the Book of Mormon. I love when president Nelson said this

" I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life. "

I testify that this is true! Miss ya'll a ton!

Peace
