Portland, Oregon We headed to Oregon to see grandparents and family before you would be leaving on your mission. Your Dad flew in from Alberta at noon and aunt Heidi picked him up. As we had already arrived by car,  we drove in from the coast to meet at Aunt Heidi’s.  Eric and Justin headed to the Portland temple to meet with the temple president and prepare for his endowment at 5 PM. Uncle Roger, Aunt Heidi, cousin Brooklyn, and grandma and grandpa Cornilles and I all drove in to meet you.  Aunt Shellie and uncle Mike got stuck in Portland traffic and we’re not able to make it though they tried. It was a small but wonderful session. You seemed comfortable and calm and alert. And there is a wonderful spirit. You have been taking temple courses from brother and sister Johnson and I think those helped answer questions and prepare you for the temple.

The mullet that you had been sporting this past school year had to go before you went to the temple. AJ did a good job of giving you a good missionary haircut.
